Introduction to Ex-Union Council 36G
Introduction & Census
Rahim Yar Khan Tehsil is ranked 7th out of 9 Union Councils with a total population of 27,597 according to the 1998 census, but according to a recent survey report by local NGOs, the current population of Union Council 36G has exceeded 50,000. The number of registered voters in this union council is 24489.
UC Areas
Its major residential areas include Asia's largest slums Noorwali, Tabi Laran, Nai Abadi Noorwali, Basti Khambaran, Basti Laran, Tibi Mehran, Haseeb Town, Tauhidabad, Nafisabad, Chak 72 / NP, Mohalla Jafri Chowk. , Mohalla Manzoor Soomro, Mohalla Adam Pathan, and Mohalla Sheikhan. There is no significant place in this union council except for the honor of being one of the largest slums in Asia.
Out of 9 union councils in the city, Union Council 36G is number seven which is its own example of backwardness. The district government has never started development projects in Union Council 36G and there is no proper arrangement of street lights in these streets and neighborhoods. Accidents have become commonplace due to broken roads and the disappearance of gutter lines.
More about
The poverty and backwardness of the Union Council can also be gauged from the fact that for this population of more than 50,000, a government-level boy There are high schools, a girls' high school, a few primary schools. Dozens of private schools have also been set up for the children of the poor and working people in the slums.
Lack of Basic Facilities
There is no such thing as a veterinary hospital, veterinary dispensary, veterinary center in this entire union council but fortunately, there is a rural health center where the health unit and the population staff work together. Population Welfare Family Welfare Assistant Hazoor Bakhsh Khan He said that the population sector in the rural health center is doing its job well.
Regional Issues
In the regional issues, they are facing troubles and financial loss from thieves and drug addicts in the area. Valuable items are being stolen from the dispensary due to broken walls.
Difficulties
Despite this, they have tension. Fifteen to twenty patients in the population receive daily guidance. They are facing problems in the survey. Despite public awareness, population control is not being implemented. There are health in-charges, medical technicians, vaccinators, etc. in the health sector.
There is no provision of clean drinking water in any place in the entire Union Council and no serious thought has been given to the installation of water filtration plant in this Union Council to date. Sewerage problems in the union are so great that it is impossible to pass through the streets.
With the gutter covers missing, many streets have turned into ponds filled with sewage and this water has been in one place for a long time. The accumulation is creating sanitation problems and diseases in these streets. It is also difficult for women, children, and the elderly to pass through the streets and sometimes women, children and the elderly have been injured in falling into dirty water and taken to hospitals.
People Opinion
Residents of the area Mohammad Mohsin, Sajjad Hussain, Khalid Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Mohammad Rehman, Teymour Ahmad, Jahangir Gondal said that several applications for the water supply scheme have been sent but no hearing has been held so far but former MPA and district president of Pakistan Peoples Party Engineer Javed Akbar Dahlon during his tenure had approved a water supply scheme worth Rs. 5 million for the Union Council in which pipelines were laid immediately after the transfer of funds but to date, this scheme has not been implemented.
Result
As a result, pipes laid underground have been destroyed and Rs 5 million has been lost. On top of that, the sewerage system has been out of order for a long time. As a result, the people of the Union Council are facing severe problems. The supply of clean drinking water in the entire area or in the Union Council is a distant thing.
It has also become difficult to supply bitter water full of diseases. The sewage system in the groundwater containing arsenic is getting mixed with dirty water which is spreading other deadly diseases including jaundice. He said that parks etc. have been set up but playgrounds are not available for children so that their children are forced to play in the streets or superstitions like the internet and mobile have started ruining the future of their children.
What does the district administration think?
Revolutionary measures have never been taken. During the day, piles of dirt and dirty water accumulate in various places, while at night, due to lack of street lights, the streets are plunged into pitch darkness, which has increased theft and street crime in the area.
The DPO announced the formation of Mohalla Committees and committees for paperwork were also formed but no one was found to activate these committees. The cemetery in the Union Council has become a hotbed of criminals, including the occupation of the mafia, "ships" and occupiers.
Wasim, Rana Qurban, Mohammad Umair, Zeeshan Ali, Ahmed Azeem Solangi, Mohammad Asad, Anjum Shehzad Gondal Instead of making rubbish bins, only vacant plots are turned into filth depots where after months the cleaning staff including the residents of the area also put their garbage-filled trolleys and wheelbarrows in the filth depots built in the empty plots and the rubbish disappears for many months.
Wapda Issues
Then the benefactor or Sama the same is true of power poles in the middle of street plots where dangerous power lines have become dangerous images of poor policies of the WAPDA department. These poles are broken and hanging.
Children can be affected
Children have often been seen playing with meters and wires hanging from them, and many times during the rainy season, people and animals have been seen being injured by electric shocks in the same poles.
Safety Issues
There are no safety measures as people's meters are outside the houses. Tractor-trolleys, large vehicles, and sudden accidents while passing through the streets bring the meters on the poles to a halt, and the meters break and shatter.
It is also received from the consumer who is not only abusing but also openly oppressing the consumers. During the rainy season, these meters hanging on the poles get burnt in which the user is not at fault but the user has to pay a fine.
Kachi Abadi
Union Council 36 / G's densely populated Noorwali, Tabi Laran, Nai Abadi Noorwali, Basti. Khambaran, Basti Laran, Tabi Mehran, Haseeb Town, Tauheedabad, Nafeesabad, Chak 72 / NP, Mohalla Jafri Chowk, Mohalla Manzoor Soomro, Mohalla Adam Pathan, and Mohalla Sheikhan.
These are the areas where when the streets or gutters are cleaned, people rejoice that God heard them too. Tuff tiles were installed in many streets in these areas, but as soon as the plan to install tuff tiles was fulfilled, the Sui Gas Department staff.
Sui Gas Department
The Sui Gas Department made the Tuff Tile project its laboratory and left the roads in a state of disrepair for several months and could not be restored even after laying the new pipeline. As a result, the Tuff Tiles began to disappear slowly. And now there are dozens of streets where Tuff Tile doesn't even have a name.
Conclusion
A visit to the streets of Union Council 36 / G reveals that the roads have hardly been built in any era. But now there are no roads or alleys where potholes are not found, there are some areas where the metal road was built in the '80s but later no one thought of repairing it and the road was not rebuilt.
The piles of dirt and gutters on both sides of the road now feel as if they are part of the road. The removal of these piles has never been seriously considered. Instead of complaining and demanding the removal of the piles, it is said that the TMA does not have as many cleaning staff as you have ordered.
There are many streets where sewage water has leaked. There are permanent tents and there are many where passing through it will never feel like it is a road or passing through mounds of mud.
