Silent fasting MPAs

Rahim Yar Khan's two MPAs whose valuable services are still unknown to the people.

Shocking Us

It is shocking news for the residents of Rahim Yar Khan that the public representatives they elected by their precious vote only because they will represent them in the Assembly and play an active role in the legislature to fight for their rights. But here the story turned out to be something else.

The people's representatives had nothing to do but take their salaries and allowances. During their two and a half years of rule, they never presented a resolution to become the voice of the people. Not at all.

Right to Information Act.

According to the report received from the Provincial Assembly Punjab under the Right to Information Act, the MPAs elected from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Constituency 262 and Constituency 263 have proved to be only a burden on the provincial exchequer for the last two and a half years 64,96,565 for salaries and assembly session meetings.

Resolution Never Submitted

Both the MPAs have never tabled a resolution in two and a half years. It should be noted that both the MPAs are not highly educated either, MPA Asif Majeed's education is matric while Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq of Chenab Group's education is middle, MPA of PP-262 Chaudhry Asif Majeed defeated PTI.

During his one year tenure in government, he has never presented any resolution regarding the people of his constituency except for salaries and benefits. Similarly, the MPA of Constituency 263, Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq of Chenab Group has also received salaries and benefits. They have not submitted any resolution.

After becoming Parliamentary Secretary, he is receiving his salaries and allowances through the Services and General Administration Department. It should be noted that considering the performance of both the MPAs, no resolution has ever been tabled for legislation and only the salaries and allowances from the Provincial Assembly have become a burden on the provincial exchequer and this burden will be borne by the provincial exchequer for the next two and a half years. More will have to be endured.
