KARACHI: An Indian airliner had to make an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport after its passenger suddenly fell ill.

Flight 6E1412 of Indian private airline IndiGo was en route from Sharjah to Lucknow when a passenger fell ill. Considering the condition of the passenger, the captain of the plane contacted Karachi Air Traffic Control and sought permission to land the plane on humanitarian grounds.

Pakistani air traffic control officials allowed the plane to make an emergency landing on humanitarian grounds, but the passenger could not be rescued.

Karachi Airport officials say that the plane made an emergency landing for an Indian passenger named Habib-ur-Rehman. After confirmation of death by doctors, documentation, and necessary steps, the Indian plane left Karachi for the Indian city of Ahmedabad.
