Connecticut: A 35 35 cup bought from a card sale in the United States proved to be one of the Chinese antiques and now it can be sold for three to five million dollars, ie a few thousand cups has proved to be a treasure of crores of rupees.
The cup was made in the fifteenth century and the blue flowers on it make it a rare item. The American people usually sell their household items in the backyard on Sundays, which is called yard sale. The cup was purchased from a yard sale in Connecticut.
The New York-based world-famous antique auction house Sotheby's said in a statement, hiding the identity of the original owner, that the cup was purchased from New Haven in 2020. The buyer then contacted them and asked if this could be a rare item.
Experts say that this bowl made of porcelain is called the 'Lotus' bowl which belongs to the reign of Chinese King Yongle. Thus it was developed between 1403 and 1424. There are currently only six such bowls in the world.
The cup will be auctioned on March 17 and is expected to sell for between 300,000 and 500,000.
