Allegedly Committed Suicide After Losing a Competition in India New Delhi


New Delhi: Ritika, the cousin of Indian star women's wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phugat, allegedly committed suicide after losing a fight.


According to police, a wrestling tournament was held in Bharatpur, Rajasthan from March 12 to 14, in the final bout of which 17-year-old Ritika lost by just one point, much to her dismay.


Ritika was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her uncle's house a day later. She had been living in the house for four years and was training at her uncle's academy, but police have launched an investigation.


Geeta and Babita Phugat have expressed their grief over the death of their young cousin in this manner on social media.
