Lahore: Indoor and outdoor weddings have been banned in Punjab from April 1.
According to News, a meeting of the Anti-Corona Cabinet Committee was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar in which important decisions were taken and strict measures were approved in view of the severity of Corona.
The Cabinet Committee approved a strategy to strictly implement the decisions of the NCOC, after which a policy of micro-smart lockdown will be adopted across the province.
According to the decisions, indoor and outdoor weddings have been banned from April 1. The meeting also decided to close parks and restaurants while only takeaways will be allowed.
Religious, political, social, and cultural gatherings and all kinds of sports activities are also banned in the province, masks will be strictly banned, and drivers who do not wear masks will be fined, while drivers who do not wear masks.
The market will be closed till 6 pm, while the decision to close intra-city transport will be taken after consultation.
Punjab Chief Minister's Press Conference
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet committee meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that the rate of spread in the third wave of Corona in the province has reached 14%, while the rate of positive cases in Lahore in the last 24 hours is 21% in other districts as well.
The corona epidemic is spreading rapidly, putting severe pressure on the health system.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that after the increasing cases of Corona, the meeting decided that effective lockdown would take place in districts with more than a 12% rate from April 1 to April 11, after which marriage ceremonies would be banned in districts with more cases.
Indoor-outdoor dining will be banned in the province and only takeaways will be allowed.
Usman Bazdar said that there is no ban on any economic situation, all parks, recreational places, and all kinds of gatherings in the province will be completely banned, meanwhile, Punjab Metro and Orange Line train will also remain closed, shops will remain open till 6 pm. He said that heavy fines would be imposed on those who did not wear masks.
Private transport is not being closed yet.
