Palm exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded 73%


The volume of date exports to Saudi Arabia has increased from 127,000 tons to 215,000 tons, which is equivalent to 68%. The value of profits from exported dates has increased from 53.5 million riyals to 92.7 million riyals, accounting for 73% of the total since 2015.


A statement issued by the National Center for Palm in Saudi Arabia said that the volume of palm exports in the kingdom has increased from 127,000 tonnes to 215,000 tonnes per annum. During the year 2020, the country's palm exports increased by 7.1% while in terms of quantity, the increase is 17%. Palms grown in Saudi Arabia are exported to 107 countries around the world.

According to the National Center for Palms, the increase in palm exports in the country as a result of the efforts made by the Department of Agriculture and Irrigation in this regard. The increase in palm exports to the country last year despite the Corona epidemic is proof that Saudi Arabia is one of the world's largest exporters of dates despite the global epidemic.

Saudi Arabia's total palm exports account for 12.66% of total exports, while the annual growth rate of palm production is 12.46%. The increase in palm exports to Saudi Arabia is in line with the country's Vision 2030 targets. The State will continue to increase its production while maintaining the high quality of dates.
